When Zoho Books is the better pick
- You want real double-entry accounting — bank reconciliation, P&L, balance sheet.
- You (or your CA) want to file GSTR-1/3B directly from the same tool.
- You track inventory or run a growing team that needs multiple users.
- You're already inside the Zoho ecosystem (CRM, Mail, Projects).
When Mavoin is the better pick
- You want to raise a GST or USD invoice in under two minutes, not configure a ledger.
- Suite pricing feels heavy when all you need is invoices and outstanding-in-INR.
- You bill India and foreign clients but don't want to become your own bookkeeper.
- You'd rather have a tool that does one job cleanly than ten jobs adequately.
The verdict
Choose Zoho Books if you want a full accounting system and will use the ledger. Choose Mavoin if you're a solo who just needs GST-correct, multi-currency invoices and clear INR outstanding — without the suite weight or price.
Mavoin vs Zoho Books — FAQ
Is Mavoin a full replacement for Zoho Books?+
No — and that's deliberate. Mavoin replaces the invoicing and outstanding-tracking part. If you need bank reconciliation, inventory or direct GSTR filing, Zoho Books does more. Many solos keep Mavoin for billing and let their CA handle filing.
Can my CA still work with Mavoin data?+
Yes. Mavoin keeps GST-correct invoices and INR books your CA can use for filing. CSV/Excel export is coming soon; in the meantime, email hello@mavoin.com and we'll get your data to you — it's yours.
Is Mavoin cheaper than Zoho Books?+
For a solo, typically yes — Mavoin is ₹199–₹299/mo versus suite pricing built for teams. Always verify current plans on each provider's site, as pricing changes.
