About

Mavoin is built by someone who sends the same invoices you do

I'm Jeel Gondaliya. I run a one-person IT consultancy out of Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Most of my clients are overseas, which means I need invoices that are GST-compliant under Indian law but billed in USD or EUR — a clean foreign-currency bill with my bank details on it, treated correctly for Indian tax.

That turned out to be a surprisingly awkward thing to buy. Zoho Books can do it, but for a single person it's a full accounting suite when all I needed was to send a correct invoice. Refrens leans towards agencies. Wave doesn't handle India at all. Tally is built for retailers. Each one was made for someone who wasn't me.

So Mavoin is the tool I wished existed: GST-correct when it needs to be, multi-currency when it should be, INR as the books base, and priced like an app rather than an enterprise suite. I've used it for my own real invoices since day one — the fastest way I know to find out whether something actually works.

How we write about GST

Everything on the Mavoin blog is written from the position of someone who has had to get these invoices right for their own business — filing an LUT, working out whether a foreign client's commission counts as an intermediary service, chasing the rupee value of a dollar invoice at year end. It's practitioner writing, not a rewrite of a circular.

Where a post states a rule, it's the rule as we understand it at the date shown on the post, and posts carry a last-reviewed date when they've been revisited. GST changes, and a post that was right in 2024 may not be right now.

Mavoin is not a Chartered Accountant service. Nothing here is tax advice for your specific situation — verify GST specifics with your CA before you rely on them.

What Mavoin actually is

Invoicing software for Indian freelancers and solo founders. It raises GST-correct tax invoices for Indian clients and multi-currency invoices for foreign ones, keeps your books in INR with the FX rate captured on the invoice date, and connects to Claude so you can raise an invoice by asking. It is deliberately not an accounting suite — there is no ledger, no inventory, no payroll, and no plan to add them.
