Mavoin

Vyapar alternative

The best Vyapar alternative for Indian freelancers

If you sell goods and need to know what's on the shelf, Vyapar is the better tool and this page won't pretend otherwise. If you sell services — design, code, consulting — and invoice clients abroad, the inventory half of Vyapar is weight you don't use, and the foreign-currency half you do need isn't what it was built for.

Why freelancers switch from Vyapar

01

Services don't have a stock ledger

Most of Vyapar's depth is inventory: items, quantities, batches, reorder points. A freelancer selling hours or projects touches none of it, and that unused half still shapes every screen you do use.

02

Foreign clients need more than a currency symbol

An export invoice needs the zero-rated declaration or IGST, the SAC code, place of supply, and the rupee equivalent at the invoice-date rate for your books. Mavoin does all four by default; a domestic billing app leaves them to you.

03

Your invoices shouldn't live on one machine

Mavoin runs in the browser, so the invoice you raised on a laptop is there on your phone, and there is no device to migrate when you replace it.

When you should stay with Vyapar

We'd rather you pick the right tool than switch and regret it. Vyapar is the better choice if:

  • ·You sell goods and need stock levels, batches and low-stock alerts.
  • ·You run a shop or a product business where billing and inventory are the same job.
  • ·You want a one-time-feeling device licence rather than a monthly cloud subscription.
  • ·You bill entirely in rupees, to Indian customers, and always will.

Vyapar alternative — FAQ

Is Mavoin better than Vyapar?+

Not universally, and it depends on what you sell. If you carry stock, Vyapar does a job Mavoin doesn't do at all — we have no inventory module and no plans for one. If you sell services and invoice foreign clients, Mavoin is built for exactly that and Vyapar isn't.

Can Vyapar invoice foreign clients in USD?+

Vyapar is designed around domestic rupee billing for Indian small businesses; foreign-currency export invoicing with LUT or IGST treatment and INR-equivalent books is not what it was built for. Check the current version for what it supports today — and if export billing is your main workflow, that's the gap Mavoin fills.

Vyapar works offline. Does Mavoin?+

No — Mavoin is a web app and needs a connection. That's a real trade-off: Vyapar's local-first design suits a counter with patchy internet, while Mavoin's suits someone working from a laptop, a phone and occasionally a client's office, with the same data in all three.

I sell services but also resell some hardware. Which one?+

If the goods side is material enough that you need stock levels, take Vyapar — running two tools is worse than accepting an imperfect fit. If you resell occasionally and mostly bill for your time, Mavoin plus a spreadsheet for the occasional item is usually the lighter answer.

Try the Vyapar alternative built for India

Vyapar wins for inventory-led product businesses billing in rupees, and saying so is the point — most Indian small businesses selling goods should pick it. Choose Mavoin if you sell services, invoice India and abroad, and want GST and multi-currency handled correctly without an inventory module you'll never open.
